In a dystopian future, Guy Montag is a "fireman" who burns books. The people do not read, or enjoy nature, but are very attached to technology. He meets a young girl, Clarisse, who opens his eyes to nature and books. Montag begins to rethink his life and society by reading stolen books. He meets another book lover, Faber and they plan to discredit the firemen, but he’s betrayed by his wife and his boss arrests Montag. He flees to a book loving society that is bombed. The title references the temperature at which books burn.
